Ed Dickson, tight end

With a couple of departures possible on the tight end front in Arizona, that would open up opportunity for another tight end to come in.  Dickson is a guy new head coach Steve Wilks should be familiar with.

At 30, Dickson was the 10th-highest paid in 2017 based on the 2018 free agent tight ends. He had 437-yards receiving last season for the Carolina in 16 games played.

He averaged 14.6 yards per reception last season.  Arizona’s number one tight end in 2017, Jermaine Gresham, averaged just 9.8 yards per reception.

The Cardinals could be saying goodbye to guys like Troy Niklas and Ifeanyi Momah.  Dickson would be a nice addition to the remaining tight ends in Gresham and Ricky Seals-Jones.

Dickson likely would produce more offensively and less of an injury liability.  Niklas and Momah have both had troubles staying healthy.  Niklas did manage to play in 15 games last season but had missed a lot of time prior to that.  Momah’s season ended early in 2017 in November.
