Its hot outside

The Cardinals were forced outside during preseason camp in 2017 for a couple of practices.  However this time around, they’ve gone outside on purpose, with an empty indoor stadium in the background.

Why the change we don’t know exactly?  The Cardinals won’t be playing any home games in the heat with the roof over their heads at UOP Stadium.

On Friday it was learned that some players lost some significant weight while they held a closed practice outdoors just outside the stadium walls.  It’s very difficult to retain water while sweating with all of that gear on.

Whether it is trying to build a mental and physical toughness, whatever the reason for the crazy outdoor sessions, the fact is it is hot any time of the day in the Valley this time of year.  There was a reason the team used to practice in Flagstaff in July and August.

Hopefully the players are properly keeping hydrated.  The last thing the Cardinals need are players dropping because of dehydration.
