Gabe Holmes

There is still a lot to be learned from Holmes this season.  At 27, he is in his third season out of Purdue.

He started his career with the Oakland Raiders in 2015 as an undrafted free agent.  He spent time on two practice squads last year, with the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens.

He then came to the Cardinals at the end of last November but was not active until week 15 of the 2017 regular season.  He ended on the 53-man for three games but never registered a single statistic.

However he did survive training camp and preseason this year with the Cardinals.  He played pretty well in the preseason and deserves his chance as the number two tight end.

Next. State Farm is there for the Arizona Cardinals. dark

We’ll have to see him play in the regular season to see how he measures up. Expect to see him a lot early on with Gresham still working his way back.
