Jim Caldwell

He’s another good guy, like Steve Wilks. However he’s a good guy who wore out his time in Indianapolis and then Detroit.  Again ask yourself why these guys are available?

That’s not to say a guy doesn’t deserve a second chance, or even a third.  Maybe the Cardinals did hear what they wanted to hear from his interview.

He does have a winning record in the NFL as a head coach at 64-54.  He also had Peyton Manning and Matthew Stafford as his quarterbacks.  He inherits Josh Rosen in Arizona.

He wouldn’t be the worst hire in the world but there has to be a better candidate out there than this re-tread, right?

Caldwell is a quarterbacks coach.  However so was Byron Leftwich and everyone was excited for him to get the job of offensive coordinator when Mike McCoy was fired mid-season.

The point is, just because a guy has done something means he’s the right fit for the job in question.  We’ll see what happens.
