5. Terrell Suggs

Another hometown hero returns home.  Arizona State University and Chandler High School product Suggs comes back to the Valley to finally get a chance to play in front of Phoenix fans as a professional.  Many felt the Cardinals should have taken him with their first round pick in 2003.

Instead, they went with offensive lineman Levi Brown.  We all know how that turned out.

Suggs was a staple in the middle of the Baltimore defense for the past 16 seasons.  His career numbers speak for themselves.  His career totals include 846 tackles, 132.5 sacks, seven interceptions, 35 forced fumbles, and 13 fumble recoveries.

He has been to the Pro Bowl seven times and was NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2011.  He comes home on a one-year deal reportedly worth $7 million.

He can not only still play at 36-years old (he’ll be 37 in October) but can also be a mentor for the younger core of players the Cardinals are trying to build for the future.  Even if it is just for one-year the Cardinals will benefit greatly from his presence.
