Next man up

It really is amazing what a difference a few years make.  In 2015, the Cardinals won on their next man up mentality.  Keim was considered a guru in finding guys off the street to come help them win.

Then his draft classes in 2016 and 2017 didn’t turn out to be much and fans wanted him out.  Certainly understandable but it was like the guy wasn’t allowed any misses.

His 2018 class was alright and the 2019 class the jury is still out.  But he has been raked over the coals by some for his free agent signings the last 2 years.

Yes, some have been misses.  He missed badly on the offensive line on a number of fronts.  Andre Smith, Max Garcia in free agency, Marcus Gilbert on a trade, and guys like Evan Boehm, Cole Toner, and Dorian Johnson.

He’s also hit on some fronts as well.  Home run with Mason Cole, Justin Pugh, and J.R. Sweezy.

He also made mistakes at receiver, such as Michael Crabtree and Kevin White.  He hit with tight end Maxx Williams though.

The point is, no one is perfect.  Oh and yes, his 2018 DUI is a huge blemish.  By all accounts he’s done the right thing since, although one guy tried telling us he still gets drunk but takes Uber’s.  Who knows what to really believe there?

Next. 5 moves the Cardinals need to make in offseason. dark

Let’s get through 2 years of the Murray-Kingsbury marriage.  If by then the Cardinals haven’t at least approached 8 wins, then maybe the Cardinals should look elsewhere.  For now, who can do better with what they have?
