Darren Fells

Granted, it has been 3 years now removed from the Cardinals organization, but nevertheless Fells, the former Cardinals tight end, is having a nice season with the Houston Texans.  He is having a career year in fact.

So far through 9 games, Fells has 24 receptions.  His high with the Cardinals was 21, which also stands as his career high.  He had just 11 with the Cleveland Browns in 2018.

The most surprising part is that Fells has 6 touchdowns.  He had 10 total coming into the season over his first 5 seasons in the NFL.

Yes, it is somewhat a by-product of the offensive system he is in.  Yes we know former Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians is not fond of using his tight ends.  However could you imagine getting this kind of production out a tight end in the Cardinals offense?

He’s been gone a few years now but it is nice to see him doing well.  Hopefully it will continue for him.
