Defensive Player of the Year

Another easy decision.  Chandler Jones not only deserves the team award but the NFL award as well.  Jones is knocking on the door of 20 sacks.  His 19 currently lead the NFL.

There is a lot of discussion around the NFL for this award right now.  NFL Network’s Good Morning Football interviewed Jones this week.  They talked about him being just 3.5 sacks from Michael Strahan’s NFL record 22.5 sacks.

Jones said if it comes it comes.  If he reaches that point, it should be a unanimous decision.  Even if he doesn’t, which is very likely against the Rams, he should still receive very strong consideration.

Jones has been worth every cent and then some the Cardinals decided to spend after the 2016 season in also letting Calias Campbell move on since they could only afford to pay one of them.  Jones has turned out to be the best move for general manager Steve Keim in his tenure.
