Hakeem Butler

Fans were disappointed in 2019 when an avulsion fracture in one of his hands led to rookie wide receiver Hakeem Butler being placed on injured reserve before the start of the season.

Big things, literally, were expected from the rookie. At 6’5″ and 227 pounds, Butler presented a giant target at receiver that teams are always on the lookout for.

Although there were reports coming out of training camp that Butler was behind fellow rookies Andy Isabella and KeeSean Johnson, the combination of his size and speed pointed to his use as a end zone threat.

Unfortunately, fans did not get to witness that in 2019.

With his hand healed, Butler will undoubtedly be fighting for a spot on the 2020 roster, once again facing off against fellow second-year receivers Isabella and Johnson.

A rare combination of measurements led to draft comps with DK Metcalf and after the rookie season Metcalf put together, the Cardinals front office will be very tempted to see what Butler is capable of.

If a choice comes down between Butler and Johnson, expect the potential of Butler to sway the Cards more than the meager production Johnson put forth last year.
