Key matchups

Kyler Murray against Panthers defense

Murray struggled last week against the Lions defense.  He was picked off three times.  Of those three picks, two of them you could place fault directly on Murray.

He still found the end zone on the ground once and in the air once.  The Panthers are 20th against the rush so far, so there should be opportunity for Murray to find yards on the ground again.

He did say this week however he prefers to stay in the pocket.  He wants to be known more for his arm than his legs.  His legs however are what has helped the Cardinals get to 2-1 so far.

Chandler Jones vs Panthers offensive line

The Cardinals are fifth in sacks so far through three games in the NFL.  They have 11 sacks as a team. However Jones has just one sack.  He had 19 a year ago.

We’ve seen stretches like this for Jones.  It’s hard to pin-point if it’s more the scheme being placed on Jones or Jones just isn’t getting it done.  It would seem if teams are scheming against Jones, then it isn’t working as others are still getting to the quarterback.
