DeAndre Hopkins

Hopkins joined the Cardinals in arguably the most shocking trade of the 2020 off-season when then-Texans coach slash general manager Bill O’Brien sent the talented receiver to the Valley of the Sun in exchange for the ailing David Johnson.

Thus far, Hopkins’ play has rivaled that of a Larry Fitzgerald when the latter was in his prime. And considering several NFL records Fitz is within striking distance of, it tells you just how much production Hopkins has brought.

Already considered one of the best receivers in the NFL over in Houston, Hopkins has, if anything, elevated his play. So far on the season, he’s snagged 57 receptions for 704 yards and 3 touchdown grabs.

But as we saw during the tilt against Dallas, quarterback Kyler Murray doesn’t always need a good game from Hopkins to lead the Cardinals to a convincing victory. Hopkins’ presence alone opens things up for Murray and the offense, whether it’s through the air or on the ground.

Already in his eighth season, Hopkins is in the middle of his prime. But that shouldn’t keep him from remaining a Cardinal over the latter half of his career.
