Before there was Budda, there was Bubba. Al “Bubba” Baker is our final fit in the top five forgotten Arizona Cardinals. Baker wasn’t drafted by the team, joining the team in the 1983 season after unofficially recording 23 sacks his rookie year with the Detroit Lions in 1977. However sacks weren’t recognized as an official stat until 1982.  He’s often in the debate with Deacon Jones of who is really the NFL’s sack king.

Baker spent four years with the team, he got 37.5 sacks in his tenure and moved on to stints with the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings. Life after football meant that Baker would get involved in the barbecue game with restaurants near Cleveland, and he has enjoyed success off the field. His website does have a shop available in case any of your Cardinals fans are hungry and want to support a former member of the team.
