5 Arizona Cardinals players that will not be back in 2022

James Conner – RB
Heading into the 2021 season, not many really knew what to expect from James Conner in his first year with the Cardinals.
After spending his first four seasons in the NFL as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Conner and Arizona were able to agree to a one-year deal worth a little under $2 million.
So far, the Cardinals couldn’t have really asked for much more from the 26-year-old running back. Conner is on pace to score 17 touchdowns this season and the combination of him and fellow Arizona running back Chase Edmonds has led to the team having a top-10 rushing offense midway through the 2021 campaign.
Given Conner’s current scoring pace and the fact that he’s only on a one-year deal with the Cardinals, he’s likely going to go searching for a big payday during free agency 2022.
But who can blame him? Conner is still only 26-years-old and he would probably like to be given another shot at being a team’s No. 1 running back instead of the role he currently has in Arizona where he shares snaps with Edmonds.
