Leonard Fournette – RB

The Buccaneers got a major bargain when they retained Leonard Fournette on a one-year, $3.25 million contract back in March. But will the former fourth-overall draft selection of the Jacksonville Jaguars agree to another hometown discount with Tampa Bay when the next signing period rolls around?

The Cards got their own bargain at running back this past April when they inked James Conner to a one-year, $1.75 million deal. The 26-year-old is having a fantastic year, however, and will be expecting a much bigger payday when he enters free agency again next spring. Could Keim make a run at Fournette if an agreement with Conner can’t be worked out?

Making the situation even more interesting is the fact that Chase Edmonds will also be an unrestricted free agent in 2022. Perhaps a Fournette-Eno Benjamin combination at running back would sound interesting to the Cardinals hierarchy when next year arrives.
