Green Bay Packers

Because ideally, the Cardinals need to play the Packers for the NFC Championship. Why? Aaron Rodgers has lost his last four conference championship games. And although the Cardinals would be traveling halfway across America and into the Frozen Tundra that is Green Bay, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers proved a couple of things to the NFL Universe in 2020-21:

  1. Warm weather teams can march into Lambeau Field and beat the Packers.
  2. Teams forced to take a road trip throughout the playoffs can still make and win the Super Bowl.

While the Cardinals didn’t have the same hot finish to their season that the Buccaneers enjoyed this time last year, they’re also road warriors, having swept playoff teams on the road in 2021. And as mentioned, the Cardinals nearly upset the Packers during these two teams’ first rodeo back in October.

If J.J. Watt AND DeAndre Hopkins are healthy enough for this game, then it’s fair game. And recent history is not on Aaron Rodgers’ side in what is otherwise a storied career.
