4 Super Bowl MVPs who have taken the field for the Cardinals

Emmitt Smith – RB
When Arizona signed Emmitt Smith back in 2003, the conclusion of an outstanding NFL career was drawing near. The former Dallas Cowboys great played for just two years in the desert and was considered an “over the hill” performer for a team that was desperately trying to sell tickets.
The truth of the matter is, Smith did manage to play pretty well for “Big Red” in 2004. In 15 starts, the 35-year-old ran for 937 yards and nine touchdowns for the 6-10 Cardinals.
Smith rushed for 132 yards and two scores in Super Bowl XXVIII as the Cowboys inflicted a 30-13 beatdown on the Bills. The Hall of Fame back was virtually unstoppable during that matchup and was named the contest’s MVP for his efforts.
