4 former Cardinals stars who are still searching for employment

Back in 2013, the Cards hierarchy took a chance on a troubled defensive back out of LSU. In hindsight, the former third-round pick may have been one of the best draft selections of the Steve Keim era.
Arizona’s general manager certainly made the right call with Tyrann Mathieu, the 5-foot-9, 190-pound safety who failed several drug tests during his days as a college athlete. The “Honey Badger” had his act cleaned up by the time he got to the professional level, however, and he now has a Super Bowl ring and three Pro Bowl invitations to show for his efforts.
After his exit from the Cardinals in 2018, Mathieu spent one season with the Houston Texans and the past three with the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s a bit surprising that the still-capable 29-year-old has not yet inked a deal, but that will surely change in the coming days or weeks.
