Rally For Cardinals At Sky Harbor

The Arizona Cardinals are having a rally on Friday morning at the airport in case you hadn’t already heard.  Gates open at 7.  The team is scheduled to arrive between 8:45-9 am for their departure to Charlotte to play the Carolina Panthers.

They had a rally the last time they were in the playoffs in 1998.  They flew back from the big win in Dallas and there to greet them were thousands of Cardinals fans.  While it is exciting to see and it is nice that the Cardinals are front page news in this town for a change, I still say let’s all act like we’ve been there before.  Plus, the Cardinals still need to more big wins to get to the Super Bowl, for which they are still the longest shot of the eight teams remaining.

If they lose on Saturday, I’ll bet not a single one of those people who get up tomorrow will be there to cheer the Cards on for the good season they had when they return early Sunday morning.  If they manage to shock the world and win, from the sounds of it, the airport might want to employ some more security.

It’s exciting, but this is the NFL.  Things can change in a heartbeat.  Be careful not to get too high just yet, otherwise it might be a mighty fall for some of you come about 9:30 Saturday night.

Go Cards!
