Distraction for Steelers
Steelers tight end Jonathan Dekker was arrested early Saturday morning in Virgina after police responded to a complaint at 3:30am and then Dekker tried to flee. He was charged with obstruction of justice and is scheduled for a February 2nd hearing, the day after the Super Bowl.
Dekker has been on injured reserve since August, so he wasn’t on the active roster. However, this is the type of distraction I’m sure the Steelers don’t want prior to leaving for Tampa. Now is the time to start making your marks for each team and the advantages one might have over the other. You’ve got to look for anything to gain an advantage. Although this shouldn’t be a huge distraction, it is one nonetheless. Let’s hope the Cards can limit theirs. First advantage – Cardinals.
Go Cards!
Scott Allen

Sorry folks – that’s FORMER Steelers TE. He was waived by the team in the preseason. This is not even close to a Plaxico-type story.
Mike Tomlin will have the team focused and ready.
January 25th, 2009 at 5:43 pmActually, he is still on the Steelers roster. He may have only SEEMED waived since he got injured in the preseason. Thanks for playing though!
January 25th, 2009 at 7:44 pmDekker? No one has even heard of this guy. This is not a distraction to the team at all. It’s a total non-issue. “Thanks for playing”?
January 25th, 2009 at 11:22 pmWhy is this a distraction? I bet 95% of the Steelers players don’t even remember he is on the team. He hasn’t played a snap this whole season. You are really grasping at straws here.
