According to KTAR, the Arizona Cardinals are set to name Linebackers Coach Bill Davis as Defensive Coordinator.
The Cardinals made quick work of the hire after firing Clancy Pendergast last week. It is nice to see the Cardinals promote within. The Linebackers were arguable the most consistent group on the defensive side of the ball during the 2008 season.
I’m guessing the other reason they are promoting within is because they were not granted permission to interview Keith Butler from Pittsburgh, someone rumored to be an early lead candidate for the position.
Now, on to the task of finding a new Offensive Coordinator.
