Arizona Cardinals Champ Camp: Day Three

facebooktwitterreddit

The Arizona Cardinals hit the field for the first time on Friday on day three of Champ Camp.  Amazing what a season of winning will do for a team and it’s attendance of fans watching the practices.

Almost 2,000 people were estimated to be at the morning session in Flagstaff.  That number nearly doubled for the afternoon session to 4,000.  Players and coaches stayed after to sign autographs.  Coach Ken Whisenhunt neven acknowledged this is a different atmosphere this season, obviously given the results of last season.

The highlight of the day was receiver Larry Fitzgerald making a one handed grab near the sidelines, to the delight of all.  It certainly appears the Cards are going to start right where they left off.

Another good sign was all 80 players passed their conditioning test on Thursday.  Clearly, everyone understands there was some unfinished business from last season.  For a team that was considered one of the worst franchises of all time and only having one winning season previous to last season, it would have been easy to lay down and rest on their laurels.  Obviously this is only day one of practice, however the attitude has changed.  This team is ready to win again.

Go Cards!
