No Boldin, No Problem

Arizona Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin is not expected to play today when the Cards face the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome in Louisiana.

Sure he is a weapon you’d love to have your disposal, no doubt.  He is a big part of why the Cards have had the success they’ve had this season and in past seasons.  However, after watching last week’s game against the Green Bay Packers, it is clear that Early Doucet is ready to step in as the number three receiver and elevate Steve Breaston to the number two, once this season has ended.

Doucet had a career day last Sunday.  Of course that wasn’t that hard of a feat considering how little playing time he saw during the season.  Doucet starter to show flashes of all the reasons why the Cardinals drafted him out of LSU.  After catching two touchdown passes last Sunday, now he gets to return to Louisiana and show off for his family and friends in person.  I expect Doucet to be a big part of the offense not only today, but for years to come.

I love Anquan and I love everything he does when he is healthy and able to play, but clearly the play of Doucet has give the Cardinals an easier decision to make after the season.  That being said, I do wish ‘Q’ was out on that field today, but I think the Cards will be just fine offensively without him.

Go Cards!!
