Cards Camp Notes

The Arizona Cardinals have their first week of training camp in the books.  Tomorrow is the annual scrimmage on the fields east of the Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff.  The scrimmage starts at 9:15, but you’d better be there well before that.  There is an autograph session with the players before hand.  They are expecting 10,000-15,000 people.  Good luck.  I’ll hear about it in the news.

Quarterback Matt Leinart will be the starter in the scrimmage.

Assistant head coach Russ Grimm will be absent and rightfully so.  He will be in Canton, Ohio to accept his Hall of Fame induction.  His son, Cody, who is with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cards offensive lineman Alan Faneca will be among those there to support him.

Tight End Ben Patrick should be ok after injuring his knee Wednesday night.  An MRI showed no damage.  He may miss some time, but should be healthy for the season.
