Cards Hanging Tough, Down 13-10 at Halftime

Max Hall didn’t have such a great start.  His second pass intercepted.  Since then, he has shown some toughness, made a couple of really nice throws, and kept his team in the game against the New Orleans Saints.  Too bad he can’t play defense as well.  Saints, after turning the ball over at their own one yard line, which led to the Arizona Cardinals only touchdown, went marching right down the field in the final two minutes to re-gain the lead.

The good:

Max Hall, Larry Fitzgerald, and Beanie Wells.  The three of them kept the ball moving on offense.  Wells ran hard.  Clearly Hall was trying to create  a connection with Fitzgerald.

The bad:

Penalties.  The cards continued their shoot-themselves-in-the-foot mentality.  The allowed a Saints drive to continue after an encroachment penalty by Alan Branch.

The ugly:

The hit on Max Hall.  Hall got nailed on a run trying to score.  He ended up fumbling the ball and Levi Brown recovered the fumble for a touchdown.  It was so bad, Derek Anderson had to replace Hall on the last drive of the first half.  Hall is expected back for the second half.
