Cardinals Get Ready to Usher Out 2010 Season

Sunday's matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49'ers was supposed to be the game that would decide the NFC West. Instead, it is the other matchup, the St. Louis Rams and the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, that will decide it all. Oh how far off were those predictions?

Instead this Sunday we will be watching a battle for third place in the division.  Even after the first five weeks when the Cards were 3-2 and the Niners 0-5 who would have thought we would have ended up here?  Well, even with Derek Anderson at the helm, we still didn't think it would come to this.

In the weeks since, the Cards have only managed two wins.  You can read more about my thoughts on this Sunday's final game here.

When the calendar turned from 2009  to 2010, there weren't many that thought we'd all end up like this, sitting in a fight for third and last, Kurt Warner retired, and looking back fondly at a 51-45 OT playoff victory over the Green Bay Packers like it is something this franchise may not see for another decade.  Let's hope not.  Positive thoughts as we head into 2011.  Happy New Year!
