Off to Baltimore, Cardinals Schedule Not Getting Any Easier

The Arizona Cardinals have probably played their easiest part of the schedule at this point.  Now they must fly off to face the Baltimore Ravens.  Then they come home to face the St. Louis Rams, which should be a bit of a break, but then three straight road trips to face the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49’ers, and St. Louis Rams.  Even though Philly has struggled and Baltimore looked pretty bad offensively against Jacksonville, it is still pretty much a schedule of mostly horror the next month with four of five on the road. First up though, the Ravens.

I have to think even given the fact that Joe Flacco played worse than a college freshman, he’s going to be facing a horrible defense that gives up scores quicker than the blink of an eye.  Even Flacco should have a field day against the Cards secondary.  That is unless of course, the defense finally comes around and starts making the big plays they have the potential to make.

There are plays out there to make, even against a team like the Ravens.  The main issue will be stopping running back Ray Rice though.  He’s a tough customer.  The Cards focus will need to be on him, however the Ravens do have dangerous receivers in Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith as well.  Smith has had a nice season and I can easily see him burning the Cards secondary as Mike Wallace did this past weekend.  Could be a lot of points on the board for the Ravens on Sunday, at least 20-21 points.  Stop the presses!
