Cardinals Beanie Wells is Active

ESPN reports that Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells is going to be active today against the Baltimore Ravens.  Now the big question will be weather he will get any kind of extensive playing time.  Wells is nursing an injured knee.  Well was injured during some point of the first half against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.  He isn’t sure when or how it happened.

The Cards will have to play LaRod Stephens-Howling and Alfonso Smith quite a bit if Wells can’t go.  I would not expect to see Chester Taylor.  To be honest, I really can’t see Taylor stepping on the field for the Cards again unless the entire running back core is wiped out.  He doesn’t seem to be the answer to any problem.

Baltimore’s rushing defense is fantastic, so it is already an uphill climb for the Cardinals offense.  Lose Well and the Cards might as well just throw on every down.  If that happens, well, game, set, and match.  It is vital Wells not only play, but establish a running game where the Cards and control the ball.  It just doesn’t seem feasible to begin with, so if no Wells, get ready for a lot of Ravens offense.
