Cardinals Down in Philly at Halftime 14-7

Well, it could have been worse, but it should have been better.  The Arizona Cardinals are down 14-7 to the Philadelphia Eagles at halftime.  Kicker Jay Feely missed two field goals and quarterback John Skelton threw an interception to Asante Samuel for a 20 yard pick-six.  This easily could be a 13-7 Cards game at halftime.  It is what it is.

A lot of good things though to say about the defense and the ball control offense.  It was until late in the first half that Michael Vick and the Eagles got a sustained drive together.  The Eagles spent most of the first half making mistakes in the form of costly penalties.  A roughing the passer helped the Cards in their lone TD drive.

For the second week in a row, Skelton threw a TD pass to receiver Larry Fitzgerald.  He has also targeted Andre Roberts a couple of times.  Running back Beanie Wells looks much better this week too.  Let’s see what the second half brings.
