Fitzgerald, Peterson Have Good Showing in Pro Bowl

The Arizona Cardinals may not have been represented in numbers yesterday at the Pro Bowl, however, they were represented in performance by wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and cornerback/punt returner Patrick Peterson.  Both made significant contributions to the NFC Team in the 59-41 loss to the AFC.

Not that either defense was really trying, it was still impressive to see Fitz haul down three touchdown catches.  He had six catches for 111 yards overall.  Not bad at all.

Patrick Peterson also had a pretty good day.  He had an interception on defense and also had a few kick returns as well.  Peterson is someone who should continue to blossom in his roles as time goes on, especially on the returns.  Now he did well with kick returns on Sunday, but it is put returns we all know he is a stud at.  I think he’s got that position down pat.

Fitz continues to show why he is considered one of the best receivers in all of the NFL, if not the best, although you could make an argument for a couple of others for that distinction.  It would have been easy for him to start, get a couple of catches, and then sit on the sidelines for the remainder of the game.  That’s not his style though.

Hopefully next season there won’t be any Cardinals at the game though.  That of course, would mean that they are in New Orleans for the Super Bowl.  That would be just fine by me.
