As we prepare for Arizona Cardinals training camp reporting date of July 31st, it is time for our annual look at the roster player by player. I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.
We go from A to Z and continue with K Chandler Catanzaro. Catanzaro enters his second season with the Cardinals.

2014 season: In the preseason I wasn’t high on Catanzaro. He missed a number of kicks in practice and one day looked pretty bad. That was the last time he looked bad. he beat out incumbent Jay Feely to take over the kicking duties for the Cardinals. He made 29 of 33 field goal attempts last season, hitting his first 17 attempts before his first miss in the week 10 game against the St. Louis Rams.
2015 season projection: There is no reason to believe we will see any drop off in production from Catanzaro. Last year in training camp ‘Cat Man’ was in competition with two other kickers. This year he is the only kicker on the roster. It is safe to say unless something very unexpected happens, he is the guy once again this season.
Lot of fun talking w/@TheCatMan39 today. If you are a kicker, punter or long snapper, check out their July 18th camp. http://t.co/8UK7dh3Mm7

If I was a betting man, he might even have fewer misses in 2015. I also think the extra-point move back to the 15-yard line to which equates a 33-yard field goal attempt will help him and other kickers as well. The NFL might have done kickers a favor by moving the extra point. Catanzaro looks to have a long career ahead of him and it is nice to know he is an Arizona Cardinal hopefully for years to come.
