Arizona Cardinals officially announce additions

The Arizona Cardinals have officially announced eight of their 10 practice squad players
The Arizona Cardinals practice squad additions had been just rumors and reports up until this point. Now, of the 10 practice squad spots, eight of them are official.
The Cardinals announced the following additions to their practice squad. All eight of these players spent training camp and the preseason with the team.
TE Ifeyani Momah
CB Harlan Miller
WR Brittan Golden
T Givens Price
WR Chris Hubert
RB Elijhaa Penny
TE Hakeem Valles
LB Shaq Riddick
In addition, it is being reported the Cardinals are also signing quarterbacks Aaron Murray and Zac Dysert. Murray was with the Kansas City Chiefs and Dysert was just released by the Miami Dolphins.
Several of the players listed above easily could have made the regular season roster in previous seasons. The depth, especially on the offensive side of the ball, was deep. As you can tell from this list, it appears only two defensive players will be on the practice squad for the time being.
Momah was a surprising cut. He played well in the 2015 preseason before getting injured. He also played well in the 2016 preseason as it was thought the Cards would keep as many as four tight ends.

Miller was the only Cardinals draft pick that did not make the 53-man roster. However his talent is one that the Cardinals still want to evaluate. I would not be surprised to see him on the 53- man roster before the end of the season.
Golden and Hubert fought for what was considered to be one receiver slot. However the Cardinals decided only to keep five receivers on the 53-man roster.
It is also nice to see the Cardinals adding an offensive lineman to the group. The turnover there was greater than the past couple of seasons. There is still some uncertainty there with the depth.
At running back Penny was a fan favorite and endeared himself to Cardinals fans with a nice performance against the Denver Broncos this past Thursday evening. He carried the ball 23 times for 113 yards and a touchdown. With the roster deep at running back though, there just wasn’t enough room.
