Clancy Signs with Saints

Well it didn’t take long for Kendrick Clancy to find a new home. New Orleans signed him yesterday for a rather decent contract worth $5.2 million for 3 years. The Cardinals had to release Clancy so they would be able to sign their rookies. The limited cap space might have given a nice little gift to the Saints, who were in desperate need of DT help. He will be able to rotate in and give valuable depth, which would have been good if the Cardinals had the money to keep him.

"“It means a lot,” said Clancy, a seven-year defensive tackle. “It shows me that people know who I am, especially getting a job as quickly as I did. I have to give it up to my agent [Ron Del Duca of Huntsville]. He did a nice job.”“It’s my fourth team and I’ve been playing all over the country, and it feels like I’ve been playing in another county,” Clancy said. “The Saints already have my Ole Miss teammates with [defensive end] Josh Cooper and [running back] Deuce McAllister, so it’s really going to feel like I’m home anyway.”"
