Foxsports.com’s football guru Adam Schein has posted his list of predictions for both the NFC and the AFC and the eventual Super Bowl Champions. How does Schein think the Arizona Cardinals will fare in 2007? Well here is what he had to say:
2. Arizona Cardinals
Head coach: Ken Whisenhunt, 1st year
2006 record: 5-11 (4th in NFC West)
Schein’s projected record 9-7 (wild card)
I will be that guy — the Cardinals are headed to the playoffs! I love what new Ken Whisenhunt is bringing to this team. And by bringing offensive line coach Russ Grimm with him, Edgerrin James will get back to his old form. Matt Leinart possesses the “it” factor and has the perfect targets in Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald to truly sizzle. Arizona’s defense is shifting to a 3-4 and with guys like Adrian Wilson, Bertrand Berry and Darnell Dockett, it will be a success. There is too much talent on this team……”
9-7 grabbing the wild card spot, is it too much to expect? Not at all, this team has everything in place, and with the recent signing of rookie waiver DE Quentin Moses, a suspect pass rush will be much stronger going into the 07 campaign. As Schein put it, there is too much talent on this team, but the difference this year is that they have the proper coaching staff to direct all of this talent. Whisenhunt leads this club to the first of what will be many trips to the playoffs this year.
