For the Troops – Cheerleaders doing their part

Hello Raisingzona fans!!

Well it was a nice win against the Seahawks and a great boost of self esteem for the Cardinals organization last Sunday! While most people were busy watching football, I was actually making preparations for my 2nd annual “Sweethearts for Soldiers” calendar. What is this you may ask? Well fans, let me give you a little background. When I was cheering for the Arizona Cardinals I was also a member of the Showteam, the elite group of cheerleaders that get to travel performing for the troops. While a member of the Showteam I had the amazing opportunity to perform all over the world in places such as Iraq, Kuwait, U.A.E, Italy, and Turkey just to name a few.

It was during these trips that I fell in love with our military and the selflessness, honor, and patriotism that runs through each service member. It was then I decided to figure out a way to ensure I, as well as other former NFL cheerleaders, could continue our efforts supporting the troops in a big way after we finished cheering. So I started volunteering for Soldiers R U.S. and created the “Sweethearts for Soldiers” calendar in which all proceeds go towards sending care packages overseas!!

The connection to NFL cheerleading is that all of the calendar models are former NFL cheerleaders!!! In fact, the upcoming 2008 calendar features former Cardinals, Ravens, Chargers, and Redskins girls!! And another cool thing that I am sure some of you guys will be interested in is that we (Soldiers R US) have partnered with Randy Couture and his Xtreme Couture GI Foundation to throw a huge event over Veteran’s Day weekend in Vegas this November. So if you are looking for a perfect stocking stuffer check out our calendars, not only do you get an awesome calendar but you are supporting the troops at the same time!!

Fans I also wanted to share with you our recent calendar signing up to Ft. Lewis and McChord AFB, Washington a few weeks ago. As always, it was an amazing experience and we are very thankful for everything the troops are doing for us!!

Until next time… God bless the Red, White, and Blue!!
