Around the NFC West

The Arizona Cardinals aren’t making a lot of noise lately, however that hasn’t stopped business from happening around the rest of the NFC West.

Today the Seattle Seahawks released LenDale White.  I’m a little surprised to see Seattle give up on him so quick after an exciting draft day trade back in April.  Word is a suspension from the NFL is looming.  Not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.  Either way, I’m a little happy the Cards won’t have to face him twice a year.

A debate is going on in St. Louis as to when the Rams should start number one pick, quarterback Sam Bradford.  I say start him right away.  What do you have to lose?  You won one game last year.  How does he make your team worse?  He can’t and throwing him in right away will get him acclimated to the NFL immediately.  If I was owner, coach, judge and jury, he’s starting week one against Arizona.

The San Francisco 49’ers are also part of a debate on their chances of improvement in the upcoming season.  The talk has been centered around the passing game.  We all know they must make improvements in order to not only make noise in the NFC West, but enough to make the playoffs and do well in the postseason.  I agree they are the most talked about team in the division leading up to the season, however, high expectations don’t always make the team meet those expectations.  Sure, they will still need to ride the legs of running back Frank Gore, but in order to make waves, they are going to have to compete in the passing game as well.
