Well, maybe it won’t be a four RB rotation after all? After the signing of draft pick Ryan Williams earlier today, the Arizona Cardinals announced they have traded running back Tim Hightower to the Washington Redskins for defensive end Vonnie Holliday.
Not a huge surprise that Hightower got traded, but maybe just a small one after it seemed like the Cards were going to be happy including Hightower in their 2011 plans and see where the four-headed RB monster took them. In the end though, three backs turns out to be enough.
The Cards bring in Vonnie Holliday, who is 35 years old, will be 36 in December. Holliday only started two games for the Skins last year, recording 2.5 sacks. Kind of an interesting move bringing in an older DE, but still the numbers don’t lie when given the chance to play. Lifetime he has 415 tackles and 62.5 sacks. Let’s see what he has left in the tank.
