Cardinals Return to Practice on Sunday
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals return to practice on Sunday after their game Thursday night against the Oakland Raiders. The Cards are lucky to get out of Oakland relatively unscathed as far as injuries go. Tight end Todd Heap sprained a thumb but he will not miss any time. Other than that, it was good to get out of dodge without injury to quarterback Kevin Kolb.
It will be another short week of practice in Flagstaff. The team will practice up until Wednesday. Then on Thursday they head to play the Green Bay Packers for a Friday night game. This week there will be a lot of work to do on several positions.
First of all, that offensive line is patch work at best. I realize it is only preseason but it may unfortunately not get any better than what we saw Thursday night. If that’s the case, then it could be a long season for Kolb running for his life or on his back.
The secondary was ok, but again gave up a lot of yardage. A.J. Jefferson looked good. Marshay Green made a play at the end of the game. The corners and safeties too though will need great improvement or again the Cards will be giving up a lot of yardage in 2011.
