Preseason Week Two Upon the Cardinals
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals had their final practice of the week today in Flagstaff as they get ready to travel to Green Bay for a game Friday night against the Green Bay Packers. It’s preseason, so not to make too much out of nothing, but it is still going to be a good test to see where the Cards stand at this point of the preseason. The regular season is now only three weeks away.
How much quarterback Kevin Kolb plays is still to be seen, but again, I would expect to see him at least for the entire first quarter as they get closer to the real thing on September 11th. Training camp practice time is starting to grow thin. The offensive line will have a huge test against a very good Packers defense. The OL did not play particularly well last Thursday night in Oakland.
It would be nice to see Kolb connect with other receivers on Friday night. Word is receiver Andre Roberts is having a great camp. Now, if the Cards are to consider him as a number two receiver, he needs to go out on the field and prove it, preseason or not. Friday night could go a long way in helping the Cards really decide if what they have in the current receiving core is good enough to go with or if they should start planning to look at the waiver wire in the next week or two and get someone else in here quick.
