BREAKING: Ryan Williams Likely Out for Season

Arizona Cardinals running back Ryan Williams is likely out for the season after injuring his knee in the 28-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers Friday night.  Williams had to be carted off the field.  It is believed he ruptured his patella tendon.

Early indications were it may not be serious as they ruled out an ACL tear.  However, coach Ken Whisenhunt provided the bad news after the game.  The bigger question now is who is going to replace Williams, who was expected to see a lot of time this season.  he was one of the reasons the Cards traded Tim Hightower to the Washington Redskins.

For now, the Cards will rely heavily on Beanie Wells and LaRod Stephens-Howling.  They may have to go out and get another back though as I’m not sure the Cards can count on those two to provide a consistent running game.
