Cardinals Pick Up Two More Corners

Depth at the cornerback position for the Arizona Cardinals just got deeper.  They picked up former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Crezdon Butler and former Cincinnati Bengals corner Korey Lindsey.  Again, while not household names, they add depth to a position that was left with four players, one of which is a rookie and another coming off a preseason knee injury.

With rookie Patrick Peterson and Michael Adams coming off injury, it was important that the Cards add depth to the position, even if temporary.  Right now they just need bodies.  Against the Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins the first two weeks, the Cards can afford to add two new guys to a position that has been in a constant state of change since the preseason began, thanks to the trade of Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie and the season-ending injury to Greg Toler.

Hopefully though the moves work out.  Butler is like the 457th Steeler to come over to the Cards it seems since Ken Whisenhunt took over the head coaching duties in 2007.  Butler just tweeted a few minutes ago he is now currently on his way to Arizona.  Bring it on!  Only seven days till the 2011 kickoff for the Cards.
