Arizona Cardinals Down 9-3 to St. Louis Rams at Halftime
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals don’t look like a good football team, plain and simple. If they weren’t playing the St. Louis Rams, they’d probably be down by at least three touchdowns right now. Thank fully they are playing the Rams and they are down 9-3 at halftime. It is a field goal fest for the ages. Ok ok, I can’t really talk this one up. This one has been a snoozer.
John Skelton hasn’t looked awful, but then again, he hasn’t looked like Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers either. The Cards have been unable to run Beanie Wells, who has seven carries for two yards. Two yards, that’s not a mis-print. Skelton is 6-11 for 59 yards.
The defense allowed the Rams to control the ball for much of the first half, keeping the ball for 20:02 of the 30:00 first half minutes. Bad tackling and a couple of bad penalties kept the Rams moving the ball.
