Nine Observations About the Cardinals-Rams Game

1) Everyone is talking about the Patrick Peterson punt return that won the game for the Cardinals, but there were two equally important defensive plays: Calais Campbell’s game-saving blocked field goal attempt as time expired in regulation, and Darnell Dockett and Paris Lenon’s clutch stop of Steven Jackson on fourth down and one yard to go with about a minute and a half remaining in the game.  A different outcome on either of those plays could have meant that Peterson would never have even had the opportunity to return that punt for a touchdown.

2) Peterson deserves lots of credit for an amazing game winning punt return.  However, he was again called for a couple of penalties, and still seems to have a habit of using his hands illegally against the receivers he covers.  Rookie mistakes?  Maybe…but he better start learning quickly.
