Arizona Cardinals 2012 Profile from A to Z: LaRon Byrd
By Scott Allen
LaRon Byrd is yet another receiver the Arizona Cardinals have found with great vertical and leaping ability. His speed another reason why the Cards are putting them on their training camp roster. An undrafted receiver from the University of Miami, Byrd started 51 games for the Hurricanes and finished with 106 receptions and 1,254 yards in his college career.
Byrd’s knocks include his ability to create separation from defenders. Another concern is his drop off in production his senior year. Although he did play in the East-West Shrine game, he had more productive seasons in his junior and sophomore seasons at Miami.
That all being said, I still think he is a candidate to make the practice squad, but there are a number of receivers in camp that could breakout and surprise. It won’t be easy.
