Cardinals Head to Missouri After 17-10 Loss to Saints

The day after.  Although the Arizona Cardinals came out a loser in the first preseason game of the year, a 17-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday night in the Hall of Fame game, the Cards could find positives to take away from the game as they head to Missouri today.  The Cards are off to Missouri to face the Kansas City Chiefs in practice and game on Friday night.

Positives could be found despite a rather poor showing from the offensive line, quarterback Kevin Kolb, and the defense, which seemed to give up yardage to all strings of competition on Sunday night.  Really, trust me, there are positives.

Quarterback John Skelton.  He led the Cards on their only touchdown drive.  He certainly wins game one of his competition with Kolb.

Safety Justin Bethel.  He had some hard hits and he blocked a kick, something he was known for in college.

Running game.  Cardinals backs rushed for 112 yards.  Not bad considering the shaky offensive line and the absence of Beanie Wells and Ryan Williams.  This showing went a long way in helping determine the guys that will step up when one or both of them are unable to play.

Now it is off to Missouri.  The Cards travel today and will have a joint practice with the Chiefs on Tuesday.  Both teams will practice separately on Wednesday and Thursday in preparation for their game Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
