Ryan Williams Has Successful Return to Playing Field
By Scott Allen
Within the excitement of the Arizona Cardinals winning their first preseason game of the season was the return of running back Ryan Williams to the playing field after almost a year to the day when he went down with a season-ending knee injury. Williams played just a little, but it was enough to see the Cards are going to be excited to have him back.
Williams scored a touchdown on five carries for 25 yards. As far as I’m concerned, welcome back! Williams longest run of the game was 15 yards. Right now, he is ahead of Beanie Wells, who is still questionable to play at all during this preseason.
"It was like I hadn’t played football, like I was back in Pop Warner. But that got over quick, after that first carry. After that first hit, it was like, ‘Whew. Now let’s ball – Ryan Williams, via. nfl.com"
Now it will be up to Williams to try to stay healthy. With the uncertainty of the availability of Wells, even going into the season, the Cards may need to rely on Williams heavier than anticipated.
