Naturally, much of the sporting world is stunned by the Arizona Cardinals 20-18 victory over the New England Patriots Sunday in Foxborough. Some are not that surprised. I have to say I am, not because I was surprised of the defense and their ability. I was more surprised that the Cards limited their mistakes, albeit one late fumble almost did cost the Cards the game, but I was surprised the Cards were able to maintain composure and ball control in a hostile environment.
"As good as (New England defensive end/first-round draft pick) Chandler Jones looked, some of those lineman from the Arizona Cardinals looked better – Troy Brown, former New England Patriots WRIt’s just really unfortunate that I couldn’t come through at the end. I had a chance to make a big impact on the game. – Stephen Gostkowski, Patriots KWell unfortunately that wasn’t our best effort out there today…but give Arizona credit. They’re a good football team. They made the plays they had to make to win – Bill Belichick, Patriots Head Coach"
Now, it’s on to a home game Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. We’ve celebrated this win and rightfully so. It is nice to be 2-0, but San Francisco is 2-0 as well. A lot of schedule left to play. The Eagles, even though they’ve had two one-point victories, they are still four-point favorites at University of Phoenix Stadium. I hope the Cards remain the underdog. Fine by me.
