Arizona Cardinals Are 3-0 … But They Could Easily Be 1-2 As Well

Yup, there’s no denying it.  The Arizona Cardinals are 3-0, and are in sole possession of first place in the NFC West.  But before anyone  starts gloating, it would behoove all Cardinals fans to realize that we are a Russell Wilson touchdown pass and a Stephen Gostkowski field goal away from being 1-2 … and in the cellar of the NFC West.

One of the things I really like about this Cardinals team is that the players have stayed humble while being undefeated.  They realize that there is much work that still needs to be accomplished if they are truly going to be a great team.

I often quote the legendary Bill Parcells, who once said that the difference between a playoff bound 10-6 team and a mediocre 6-10 team is often less than a dozen points … and the ability or inability to make a play when it counts.  This has definitely been true so far in 2 of the 3 Cardinals games.

Who knows … maybe the Cardinals will go 16-0 and end up  winning the Super Bowl.  However, it’s more likely that they will be 10-6 — and at the end of the season, we will all be discussing those little plays that were the difference between the team being 10-6 and heading to the playoffs and 6-10 and thinking about what could have been.
