The Arizona Cardinals have finished in last place…again.  After seven teams fired their coaches once the 2012 regular season ended, six of them have now hired a replacement after today’s hiring of Chip Kelly by the Philadelphia Eagles and Marc Trestman by the Chicago Bears.  That leaves guess who left standing a lone at the coaching altar?  Yep – your Arizona Cardinals.  I’m not  really counting the Jacksonville Jaguars for now because they are a week behind everyone else’s firings.  It appears they are attempting to rectify that though.

The Cardinals are interviewing current Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell today.  They are even making him available to the media this afternoon once the interview concludes.  It could mean something, it could mean nothing.

Reports surfaced this morning that current Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley and current Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians were also on the Cardinals radar.  Haley reportedly wants a lot of money though.  As far as I’m concerned, Pittsburgh can keep him, especially if he comes at a hefty price.

All of this probably does not bode well for Cards defensive coordinator Ray Horton with all these offensive guys coming it.  It is fairly clear now which direction the Cards want to go in terms of type of coach.  The day is still young.  We may know more later.
