Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald are clicking right now, and they’re both satisfied with the progress the team has made.
According to azcentral.com, Fitzgerald and Palmer are satisfied playing with each other. Palmer elaborated on a specific catch that Fitzgerald made, saying that ‘he and maybe Megatron (Calvin Johnson) catch’ the throw.
Johnson absolutely shredded defenses last year, and Fitzgerald would have done the same with average (or better) quarterback play. This year, he’ll have that kind of quarterback play.
Fitzgerald knows that, and he expressed his thoughts about Palmer. He countered Palmer by saying that ‘he can make any throw.’ There are currently a good amount of quarterbacks better than Palmer, who ranked 16th in passer rating in 2012, but Fitzgerald hasn’t caught passes from any of them.
Kurt Warner was the only average or above-average signal-caller Fitzgerald has worked with, and he and Fitzgerald made it to the Super Bowl.
Palmer and Fitzgerald are hoping to do the same thing, and that’s definitely possible. Fitzgerald didn’t have anything to work with at quarterback last season, but he still managed to catch 71 passes for 798 yards. With Palmer, he wants to do more, and he’s certainly going to be able to do so.
Chemistry usually takes time, but it should come quickly considering how well the two are getting along. Palmer and Fitzgerald are both going to benefit from more help than ever, and they’re both happy with it.
