A 6’03” corner with long arms and good strength. A fifth-round pick from Stanford, Sherman was an after thought during the draft process, but he is now arguably the best cornerback in the NFL.
In 2012 Sherman had one of the best years for a cornerback in recent memory. Sherman was targeted 87 times by opposing passers, but only surrendering 41 receptions. He also intercepted eight passes and defended 15 more, while allowing a passer rating of 41.1 into his coverage(stats via Pro Football Focus).
Some will argue that if Sherman is on the list, then Darrelle Revis most certainly has to be. The only keeping Revis from this list is that uncertainty of his health going into the 2013 NFL season. So for now Sherman holds the throne at the cornerback position.
